The famous “Lawrence of Arabia” dressed in the uniform of senior British
officer albeit wearing traditional Arab headgear.Lawrence is as he
appeared at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 as a member of Prince
Feisal’s official delegation. Although awarded a considerable number of
medals Lawrence’s uniform is decidedly plain and unadorned. The only
colour comes from his Arab headdress which announced to the world
exactly where his sympathies lay.
