Meuse-Argonne - U.S. Army - Company G, 328th Infantry, 82nd Division - Sergeant - Scharfschütze

Alvin C. York was one of the greatest American heros of WWI. Despite being a conscientious objector he still served in the U.S. Army as a private in Company G, 328th Infantry, 82nd Division. It was during this time that his skill with a rifle was noticed. On October 8, 1918, then Corporal York made history during the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne. Pinned down under heavy machine gun fire, seventeen men were sent out to flank the German lines. The detachment took several losses, but York was able to eliminate over twenty enemy soldiers before the rest surrendered. When the battle ended, York had captured 132 Germans and escorted them back to American lines with only his Enfield rifle and Colt .45 pistol. York was promoted to Sergeant and awarded numerous medals, including the Medal of Honor and French Croix de Guerre.

Our Sergeant York stands 11 1/2” tall and includes an authentic M-1917 pan helmet, frock, web belt with holster, pants, leggings, Pershing boots, a model 1917 Enfield rifle and 1911 Colt .45 pistol.
